Thanksgiving
Have I actually made it to blogging about Thanksgiving?? Let's see, it's January 14, and Thanksgiving was LESS than 2 months ago. I think I'm doing well!
My mom came to Texas with us and we were here for about 10 days and then we traveled back to Nebraska to celebrate Thanksgiving with family. On the actual day of Thanksgiving, we don't have a huge tradition (other than watching the Detroit Lions football game - fortunately, Mom and Dad always liked football so they were accommodating to my dear, sweet husband).
If David and I were in Nebraska (which we quite often are), it would be just Mom, Dad, and us. My brother and sister-in-law (who, by the way, are also David and Laura), usually would be at my sister-in-law's side of the family. Since this year was different, we had Thanksgiving up in Omaha (about 40 minutes from my mom) with my brother and sister-in-law and nephews. It was the first holiday without Dad and it was bittersweet (sad he wasn't there, but good to be with family - we still have many things to be thankful for).
The kids had a grand time as evidenced by a few of the photos below:

I just like this picture. It's my oldest nephew it what we dubbed 'the turkey induced coma'!

And family pictures taken at my brother and sister-in-law's house.

On the Saturday following Thanksgiving is when the whole family gets together (aunts, uncles, cousins, etc.) It was a beautiful day and we had Thanksgiving at a park shelter so the kids had a fun time playing outside.
