Pink Tutu??

Image
Every Wednesday after ELO (homeschool coop classes), Miss Tara took time from her schedule to teach 8 girls ballet. It was such a great experience and Miss Tara is a wonderful teacher as well as ballerina! Here are a few pics from the evening and a video (the video is a little blurry, but you'll get the idea).

Remembering Dad

Image
It's been almost 6 months since Dad passed away (April 30 is the 6 month mark). We drove up to Lincoln last weekend to celebrate my mom's birthday. When I woke up on my birthday and knew that my dad couldn't call me, it was very sad. I didn't know how mom would be, but I wanted to be up there to help her celebrate. It was a very full weekend (I may blog more about that later), but on Sunday, we went to the cemetery to put flowers on Dad's grave. The kids have been asking to do that so we finally got a chance to. Here, the kids are each putting the flowers they picked out: And here, the kids are running through the cemetery. They love to look for flowers that have fallen out of the vases and put them back in. How wonderful to be carefree as a child! And this last picture I just found to be precious. As we were getting ready to leave, Jessica sat down by the marker and just a some time with her Papa. She sure does miss him!

Safety City

Image
Jaelyn went to Safety City on April 8 and had a great time learning how to cross the street safely, how to drive her 'car' safely, and how to ride a bike safely. It was very cold to begin; but by the time they got to walking, driving, and riding, it was much better! She had even more fun because she got to go with her friend, Christa.

Candy Fling!

Image
The 2nd annual Easter candy fling occurred a week ago. A good friend of mine in Topeka has been doing this for several years and I thought I'd bring the tradition to Texas. The Monday after Easter, adults converge and 'fling' candy in the yard and the kids run wildly filling up their buckets. I have a lot of fun with this as do the kids! Hopefully everyone else enjoys it as well. Here are the adults flinging the candy. They look like they are having fun, don't they? Here's the group of kiddos: And here is the fun had by all: The boys also played a rousing game of baseball. Eric loved having the extra boys over to play! We enjoyed lunch provided by Mrs. Aimee A! Thanks!

Happy Easter!

Yes, I know I'm a little late wishing you all a blessed Easter! I hope you had a wonderful time remembering the sacrifice that Christ made for you and me and celebrating his resurrection on Sunday morning. We had a pretty laid back Easter. Just the family here at home. The kids went to the Gregg County Courthouse on Saturday to participate in the Easter egg hunt. They had fun running for the eggs, playing on the inflatable toys and doing some crafts. It was a very nice time put on by First Baptist Church. And finally, the kids' Easter picture! Now I'm almost caught up with blogging!

ELO

Image
Yesterday was our last day of ELO (homeschool coop classes). The kids love going to ELO and I was one of the teachers in Eric's class. The last couple of weeks in the 1st and 2nd grade class, we did art projects. I think the kids had fun. Here are a couple of pictures from last week.

Park with Friends

We've had the wonderful privilege of meeting some new friends a few months ago. Last week we went to the park for a picnic and the kiddos had a great time!
