Happy Birthday Sweet Jaelyn!

Image
It's hard to believe my baby girl is 5! Where does the time go? We were (and still are) so blessed when she entered our lives 5 years ago. She can be sweet and sassy, compliant and defiant, all at the same time. She knows what she wants and has the determination to go after it. I wish I was more eloquent with words so I could share Jaelyn even more with you, but I'm not! Just know what a blessing she is. For those of you who know and love Jaelyn, you already know! And please make a special note of the last couple of pictures - new headband!! It's kind of blurry, because it's a picture of a picture. Welcome to the world Jaelyn! Another picture of a picture. She's about a year old here. This is Easter of 2006 - almost 2 years old. Summer of 2006 Summer of 2006 in the Upper Pennisula of Michigan. Summer of 2007 - 3 years old. She's growing up fast! Christmas 2007 - she loved the wedding. 1st day of school - August 2008 - 4 years old Less than 2 months lat...

Dance Recital 2009

Image
Jessica's ballet class had their recital tonight. All the girls did a fantastic job! I wish I had a digital camcorder to upload video (if anyone knows of someone who recorded Jessica's class and posted it somewhere, let me know!). Since I don't have video, I thought I'd leave you with a few pictures! Jessica practicing some of her poses: Proud Mom! Doesn't Jessica look like a giant! Jessica and the 3 girls in white were in the same ballet class last year (all homeschool girls). They are only a couple of years younger than Jessica! Jessica is in the middle row, last girl. The action shots were a little blurry, but Jessica is the 2nd girl in the middle row. Her friend, Emma, came to watch.

We Interrupt This Picture Post . . .

For some important breaking news! Or maybe not! I have one more catch up post that I want to do, but I thought I should blog about these oh so important matters! #1 - Jaelyn had the privilege of finding a baby bird that fell out of a nest on Wednesday. It seemed to be doing well, just couldn't fly. So, we brought it in and made a little next for it and gave it food and water. I tried to feed it every hour or so, but it would only take food a couple of times before nighttime. I assumed (and you know what assuming does??) that since it didn't want to eat much during the day that it was old enough to make it through the night. Yeah, well that didn't work! Jaelyn was initially devastated when I told her, but she seemed to handle it fairly well later on. Eric, on the other hand, oh my goodness!! I can only hope that his is this sad and upset when I'm gone! He was beside himself for a good couple of hours (fortunately Pump It Up seemed to cheer him up!). So, we had a birdie...

Picture Post #5 - The Zoo

Image
Last week David took a couple of days off of work for a mini Spring break. One of the days we went to the Caldwell Zoo. The kids had a blast (it was our first visit there). They especially liked feeding the birds (that was my favorite part as well!). Here are some pictures from the day. Sorry they are a little out of order! Feeding the fish and ducks. Who doesn't like the petting zoo: My little lion: Which way should we go: The birds - their favorite part: More birds: They like my shoestrings: Here's one on my shoulder: Jaelyn's feet in the elephant footprint: Eric's feet: Jessica's feet: Jaelyn really wanted to see the giraffes! My little monkeys!
