Happy Birthday!

Image
Hard to believe Jessica turns 10 today. Where does the time fly? She is so grown up. She helps so much around the house (when she wants to!), she likes to be in charge (I think that's a first born trait), she's sensitive, kind, gentle. She's a joy and I am blessed to be her mom! Happy birthday, baby! 2000 2001 2002 2003 2004 2005 2006 2007 2008 2009 2010

Missing Dad

Image
It's been almost 8 months since Dad passed away. Not a day goes by that I don't think about him and miss him. It's especially hard this first Father's Day knowing that I won't be able to call him and wish him a special day and tell him how much I love him. So, I know I've done this before, but here are some special pictures of my dad. I miss you! He definitely had that rebel look when he was younger. He smoked a pipe when I was growing up. He finally quite after a 3 week stay at the hospital almost 30 years ago. The limited number of pictures that I can post don't do justice to how much he loved his grandkids. He never hesitated to play, teach or just love on them. This is one of my favorite pictures. I was up visiting and it was a Monday and I was getting ready to come home. We did our fist thing which was his promise he was going to try to get better. I know he tried as hard as he could. I was home for 3 days when I was called to come back up to say goodb...

Summer Fun

Image
I don't necessarily like just picture posts, but that's all I got right now! Seems like we've been busy and it won't slow down any time soon. Prior to the wedding we had field day with our homeschool group. The kids had lots of fun with that. We also visited our friends, the Taylors, who recently moved to the Houston area. We've spent the first couple of weeks of summer spending lots of time at the splash park, tennis camp (in the blazin' heat and humidity), and bowling. So, here it is in a nutshell! Field Day: Visiting our friends: This is the stinky fish market we went to! Even the big boys had some fun! The kids love the splash park. We've been several times with friends. Tennis camp - very inexpensive and the kids had a great time (although it was a little hot!). Jaelyn didn't want to go back the 2nd day because "I don't like to sweat." She did go back and had fun! And last, but certainly not least, bowling!

Wedding Pictures

Image
My cousin (actually she's my 2nd cousin, but we don't keep track), got married this past weekend. Jessica was the junior bridesmaid and Jaelyn was the flower girl. The bride was our flower girl almost 15 years ago. As hard as it is to pick just a few pictures (my facebook pictures will attest to that), I'm going to post just a few here. We had a great time and praying blessings upon their marriage. My nephew Dan was an usher Eric caught the garter and this little girl caught the bouquet! This picture is priceless. This is Jaelyn's reaction when the groom was reaching up the bride's dress to get the garter. I assured her that it's OK since they are married!
