Just talked to Mom. Dad's heart is out of sync, so they are doing a cardioversion to 'shock' it back into rhythm. Once they do they, it sounded as if they would go ahead with the tracheostomy. There have been some things that have come and gone (blood in stomach that they are contributing to a stress ulcer; low platelets which are now back in the normal range; potential blood clot that turned out not to be).

Once the tracheostomy is in, I believe the ventilator will come off. I'd just ask for your prayers for all the procedures that Dad is going through, wisdom for the doctors, and a complete recovery. No one was prepared for this type of a recovery. We all felt that if Dad make it through the surgery (which was 2 weeks ago tomorrow), that everything else would be OK.

I'd also ask for prayers for patience for all of us (especially mom and dad) during the recovery process. We all want to see results now, and it obviously isn't happening the way we want it to.

And, last, but certainly not least, remember my mom. She has pretty much been at the hospital from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. every day since surgery. Along with all the other gamut of emotions that she is experiencing, she is tired.

Mom, if you are reading this, know that I love you and miss you lots! I'm sad to be so far away!

For your mom, Psalm 139. The Lord knows every last detail. And even when our family can't be there or can't relate, God can be there and can relate. God knows the intimate dwellings of all she faces as well as your father. He is good and perfect and provides much rest for the wearied soul. Lord, breath your breath of life, your REST, your comfort, your joy even in times of hardship and sadness.

Back to Updating! It's now June!

Since July has passed and now it's August, I thought it's about time to update the goings on from June! Ready, set, go! We signed the kids up for tennis camp. It's a fun way to be exposed to tennis for little amounts of money! Annual swimming lessons. The kids are pretty good at swimming - but we just like to keep improving upon their skills. We went to the Adrian Peterson football camp in Tyler. It was very hot, but Eric had a lot of fun! We were invited to go boating with some friends! The kids had a great time tubing and trying their hand at skiing. Had fun with friends. Our friends, the Taylors came to visit! And, hopefully you have made it this far, as the the most important part of June - my first born turned 11. Oh my - where does the time go? Thanks for reading about our month of June! I can't believe it's been a little over 10 years since I last posted. Sometimes I wish I would have kept up with the blog, it's a nice record of the time! A lot has happened in those 10 years, but I'm here to document my mom! It's been 12 years since my dad died. Overall, my mom has done really well. She stayed in her own home for about 6 years and then she moved to an independent retirement community. Although she didn't like it at first, she made some great friends and I believe thoroughly enjoyed living there. The last two or three years have been tough on her. Her health has declined somewhat, she uses a walker, has aches and pains, and has taken several falls. She's been so fortunate that none of those falls have resulted in any broken bones and overall, she's recovered well from them. However, this last fall that she took, has taken its toll on her. We Interrupt The Blogging Update . . .

for a current blog post! I had the privilege of going to Fort Hood this week to see my cousin off to Iraq. For several reasons, her mom and dad were not able to come down (Hannah went up to see them the weekend before) and since we are only 4 hours from Fort Hood and family is everything to me, I couldn't let Hannah be deployed without family present. I am so proud of her for choosing to serve our country! It was a very heart wrenching experience. I cried at the thought of Hannah being over there and it was terribly sad to see husbands and wives and fathers and children saying goodbye. Please remember all the troops in your prayers! Here are some of the pictures. I think Eric and Jaelyn were a good distraction! They didn't think the duffel bags were so heavy!
