Updates

So, there have been a few things that I've written on my blog lately that require updates. So, here goes!

#1 - I blogged yesterday about Jaelyn and Eric being sick. I'm happy to report that they are back to normal today. I'm thankful they didn't develop any fever and that it was very short lived!

#2 - David's mom had breast cancer surgery on Tuesday. The surgery went well and the doctors don't think that it has spread. They are doing some additional testing to verify that. She will start radiation in about 4 weeks. Thanks for your prayers.

#3 - Brady - I did several updates on the son of friends of ours who had a liver transplant. The surgery went well and although he's not out of the woods by any means, he is doing remarkably well. Here are a few of the updates since his surgery:

• February 3 -
  "Once again i come before you all with a deep heartfelt thank you thank you thank you for all the prayers and support, you all have been amazing. i love you all and appreciate what you have allowed God to do in my life and in your lives as well. praise be to the great and all powerful God of the universe. love, Brady"
• February 3 -
  "How great to hear from Brady this morning!
  An update on his condition is that he was up a couple of times this AM to walk around - with assistance. His numbers continue to be improving -including his BP. He met with a Physical Therapist and that was quite encouraging."
• February 4 -
  "We're going to run out of superlatives soon! Brady has been off of pain meds since last night and is now on solid food. His kidney function is improving and he has been to physical therapy this AM. I'm reminded this morning that Brady shows how we are God's workmanship, and that as Jeff pointed out last night, God still has good works for Brady to do. (Ephesians 2:10)"
• February 5 -
  "There's not much to report today! Isn't that nice. If there was it would all be good. Brady is even spending time on Facebook now. His numbers continue to be good, and they are talking to him a lot about the transition out of the hospital - remember he will still be on the hospital campus for a number of weeks. Keep on praying for how all these transplant drugs will be affecting him and that his body will be able to handle everything."
• February 6 -
  "Here are some prayer items. Remember Brady is less than a week removed from a major organ transplant! So even though reports have been positive up to now, he is still a sick cowboy! Let's remember THAT as we pray for his incision, no infection; his surgery, no rejection or infection; that all his organs would be healing and functioning; and his general health, especially that he gets his needed rest."

#4 - Remember to pray for the sale of our house in Omaha. I'm learning to 'dance in the rain' (see previous post), rather than 'waiting for the storm to pass'!
